The League to be called ‘NOTTINGHAMSHIRE FEDERATION BOWLS LEAGUE’
The League will run Leagues that are detailed in the League Rules and Competitions that are detailed in the Competition Rules, both appended to and forming part of this Constitution.
3 LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP
All Clubs shall pay an annual subscription as approved at each League Annual General Meeting.
Clubs desirous of making application for membership or withdrawal from the League must communicate in writing to the League Secretary at least FOURTEEN DAYS PRIOR to the League Annual General Meeting.
In the event of more teams than can be accommodated applying then a straight draw of all the applicants will be made at the League Annual General Meeting.
The League will hold its Annual General Meeting in NOVEMBER of each year.
Each Club will be entitled to send TWO voting representatives to the Annual General Meeting.
At the AGM: –
All subscriptions, fees, cash prizes and honoraria will be set for the following season.
The Executive Committee Members will be elected for the following season.
5 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Executive Committee (known as the ‘Committee’) shall consist: – Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretaries (as required), Treasurer and other Committee Members.
The Officers and Committee shall hold office for ONE YEAR but are eligible for re- election.
The Secretary shall call committee meetings when it is deemed necessary, or at the request of the Chairman.
The League will distribute Fixtures Matrixes to Clubs as soon as possible after the AGM.
It will be the responsibility of each Club to contact the others in their Division to confirm dates and times for all matches. This contact should be made within one calendar month of the date of the fixtures being distributed.
In the case of the Saturday Leagues, If no contact is made within the month, a 2.30pm start on the date stated in the matrix will be assumed as confirmed.
Any Club experiencing difficulties should contact their Divisional Secretary who may refer the matter to the Committee.
7 PLAYER REGISTRATION
Players can be registered for more than one Club, but may only be registered to play for one Club, in a specific League or Competition, at any one time.
Players may transfer between Clubs on or before the 30th June.
Clubs with more than one team in the same league will only be able to transfer registered players before 30 June.
All Clubs must submit to the League Secretary (on the provided form) a list of players for registration not later than the end of March each year. Clubs failing to do so shall be ineligible to play until 72 hours after such list has been received by the League Secretary.
Where a Club has more than one team in the same League or Competition, a separate list of players must be submitted for each team. Players cannot interchange between teams.
Additions and deletions to these lists can be submitted to the League Secretary at any time after the initial list has been received. Players must be registered with the League Secretary 72 hours before becoming eligible to play.
Lists of registered players will be available to Clubs on request.
8 OFFICIALS OF MEMBER CLUBS
The League will publish lists of Club information at appropriate times. In order to keep these lists up to date, Clubs are requested to inform the League Secretary of any changes to this information at the earliest possible moment.
9 TROPHIES AND PRESENTATIONS
For each Division of each League and each Competition, perpetual trophies will be awarded to the winners to be retained by them for one year. All trophies are formally presented at the Annual General Meeting and all recipients are expected to attend.
These trophies will remain the property of the League and should be returned in a clean condition to the League Secretary by the end of July for the competition trophies and by the beginning of September for the divisional trophies each year.
Any expenses incurred by the League Secretary in recovering the trophies will be charged to Clubs.
10 CHANGES TO CONSTITUTION AND RULES
Alterations to the Constitution and Rules will only be effected by a vote at the League AGM.
Proposals for alterations in the form of a written ‘NOTICE OF MOTION’ must be received by the League Secretary at least FOURTEEN DAYS PRIOR to the League AGM
